Keith R. Wesolowski | Chair
Keith R. Wesolowski, a native of Buffalo, New York, is an attorney licensed to practice law in New York, Tennessee, and Washington, D.C. Keith earned a B.A. from Yale University, where he double-majored in Philosophy and Economics. Keith graduated with a J.D. from the College of William & Mary School of Law, where he was a member of William & Mary Law Review and William & Mary Environmental Law & Policy Review. William & Mary Law Review published Keith’s student note, Remedy Gone Awry: Weighing in on Weighted Voting, 44 Wm. & Mary L. Rev. 1883 (2003).
Keith began his legal career at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, LLP, where he developed a practice that included commercial litigation and arbitration, white-collar criminal litigation, regulatory and corporate compliance, and mergers and acquisitions. Keith currently maintains a private practice oriented toward small business corporate issues. Keith serves on several Boards of Directors, including the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, and his pro bono activities include matters on behalf of the Robin Hood Foundation and New York City’s bid for the 2012 Olympic Games.
Thomas Yorty | Vice Chair
Tom Yorty is pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church located in downtown Buffalo. Westminster is known for its commitment to music and the arts and its mission and outreach to the city—especially Buffalo’s West Side where its jobs/housing and tutoring programs are directed. Westminster embraces diversity and uses its buildings and campus for many community organizations including a Zen Buddhist congregation. The church runs a well-known weekday early childhood program that serves a diverse population of city and suburban students. Westminster has been an official LGBTQ friendly congregation for over thirty years. Tom conducted the first wedding of a gay couple in a Presbyterian Church in the State of New York in 2011. Tom is married to Carol, a musician and yoga instructor; they have two adult sons. He is an avid cyclist and triathlete.
Jennifer Teach | Treasurer
As Controller of McGuire Development Company, Jennifer Teach brings her astute financial knowledge and attention to detail to Against the Grain Theater Festival. Her organizational skills and knowledge of leasing and commercial development are a welcome addition to the project.
Jennifer is a native of Buffalo, NY where she graduated from Nichols School and went on to receive her BA in a Liberal Arts Management Program with a concentration in Accounting from Virginia Wesleyan College. She gained a variety of accounting experience from retail sales to HR benefit accounting to high-end residential construction while living in both Virginia Beach and Richmond, VA.
But Jennifer’s love of Western New York brought her back to Buffalo where she lives with her husband, Tim, and two children, Owen and Piper.
Karen Walcott | Secretary
Karen W. Walcott, M.D., was born in Buffalo, NY. While growing up in Warren, PA, she spent summers at the Chautauqua Institution enjoying the lake and the theater. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, then returned to Buffalo to attend the SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine. Karen then completed her residency in ophthalmology at Boston Medical Center. She currently practices ophthalmology part-time while raising her four young children with her husband, Roger Walcott, M.D. Karen serves on the board of the UB Medical Alumni Association and is involved with her college alma mater, Penn, conducting alumni interviews. She also coaches Girls on the Run, a national program that integrates running with empowerment.
